In this installation the motors transform a small quantity of electrical energy into a large kinetic field.
A constant flow of electricity to 26 motors, rotate 26 strips of mirrored card at over 1000rpm. As they turn the size of the strips appear to expand and contract; the form mutates in response to the motor. This form is illusionary and only exists because the speed of the moving part is greater than the speed of the viewer’s eyesight. As each strip turns with the speed of the motor it appears as if surges of energy are travelling along them; the transformation of electrical energy into kinetic energy is illustrated.
