Mesh and analogue tape

I became interested in the way a person would look at a piece of art. Instead of looking at a piece of kinetic art I wanted to create a piece that changes as the person walks around, exploring a piece.

I made a box out of mesh then used it as a structure to thread 176m of analogue tape through it. Each length had one twist in the same direct. The result was that a visual gap appeared through all the lengths. When the viewer walked around it, the tape gave the effect of moving up and down the entire box.
