I became very interested in creating pieces where the process of recording time was the central element. By using long line of 31 gears each with a ratio of 1:4 the speed of each gear slowed. Consequently the first gear moved at 115 revolutions a minute but the last gear only moved at 5.36 revolutions per 100,000,000,000 years.
