'Unnatural History' - Sotheby's Commission

10m x 2m x 2m. London 2001

On completing my MA at the Royal College of Art, Sotheby’s commissioned me to provide an artwork for their atrium in London. The space of 10m x 5m allowed many different viewing positions for the visitor. An organic outer structure, using 5,000m of nylon stretched from one side of the space to the other. The medium was divided and held together by metal rings, each with 206 holes, through which the nylon was threaded and then attached to the railings.
