During the course I was very aware of the border between sculpture and visual communication. Investigating the usage of communication together with form was an area I had not explored. So I bought second hand books and broke them down, tore into them, cut them, and soaked them. Extracts could be developed into new forms that were constructed technically to explore depth.
I became engrossed in form, emotion and aesthetics and then started experimenting with various sizes of paper, analysing versatility, strength and light through simple score marks. These score marks became more precise in their positioning, and the more precise the marks, the bigger the sheet of paper I could manipulate. The culmination of the work was a piece which was 1.5 metres high with only 1 score mark.
